Fabiano Armellini

FABIANO ARMELLINI is an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics and Industrial Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal (Canada) and member of the Centre Interuniversitaire de Recherche sur la Science et la Technologie (CIRST). He holds B.Eng. (2003), MSc. (2006) and DSc. (2013) degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo (Brazil), with exchange studies at Michigan State University (USA). Dr. Armellini is co-founder of two successful Brazilian consulting companies focused on innovation, engineering design and product development. He has 15 years of professional experience in the industry, performing and managing innovative product development, and also on the design and implementation of innovation processes as a consultant. His experience embraces several different industry sectors, such as aerospace, automotive, telecommunications, industrial automation, food, mining and chemical sectors. In research, Dr. Armellini’s interests lie on innovation management, with special interest on open innovation, technological entrepreneurship and new product development. He is currently involved in research projects about the internet of things, industry 4.0, digital aerospace, open innovation in the automotive industry and the integration of innovation ecosystems assessment to the strategic technology planning process.
